The emphasis will be on musical scales for healing.

2pm – 4:30pm • The Healing Power of Music:
Based upon a unique body of knowledge that has been handed down from teacher to student through 17 generations of master Sufi musicians, Ustad Nizami will demonstrate how music can restore our natural rhythm and tone and bring healing to our bodies, hearts and souls.

Sunday 5th, 2012
9am -10:15am Morning Ragas:
Music and ragas in the Sufi tradition, including music traditionally performed for the Urs celebration of Sufi saints and in honor of Hazrat Inayat Khan

A world-class musician, Nizami exhibits a masterful command of both the music and the instruments he uses in performance. Audiences find his performances to be passionate, mesmerizing and spiritually ecstatic.
