Dances of Universal Peace

First Friday of the Month (7:30pm)

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, joyful circle dances combined with sacred music, chants and songs, drawn from a wide variety of cultural and spiritual traditions. First developed by Murshid Samuel Lewis in the 1960s, the Dances have grown into worldwide phenomenon, celebrating peace and human connection. They invite us to touch the beauty of who we really are and to see and share that beauty everywhere.

The Dances of Universal Peace are enjoyed by participants of every age, and no dancing experience is necessary — simply a willingness to open to divine joy. Bring a friend or loved one, and enjoy an uplifting evening with the RTI community. Offered the first Tuesday of each month (by donation) and on other special occasions, such as weekend Dance seminars or evenings with visiting teachers. For upcoming Dances events, please see our Upcoming Events page.
