Our History ...
Begun with 8 women in January 2006 the Women's Meditation Circle has grown to over 500. It has served southwest Florida's spiritual community in gatherings of friendship, respect, and devotion. We meet on the third Friday of the month - (see schedule) The Circle is a place where women come together, hold intentions of healing, of planetary peace, and focus on the raising of human consciousness. 2026 is our 20th year leading the group. It's now time to move in new directions that will include holding meditations and spiritual classes in smaller groups. In 2026 Christy Perry takes the baton and leads it into it's next decade. She invites experienced guest meditation leaders to bring their practices to the group. Each leader comes from a different spiritual background, training or discipline and is capable of holding space and leading large groups. Meditations are varied and include guided visualization, mindfulness, movement, sound and chanting as well as silence.

Founders of the Meditation Circle
Patricia & Jo spent 40+ years teaching esoteric principles and spiritual practices. In 2006 they founded the Women's Meditation Circle with 8 women which grew to over 500. It continues today, along with the annual "go to" Women's Spiritual Retreats they founded in 2011. They've authored several books, "Meditation - The Art & Practice", "A Spiritual Field Guide", "The Soul's Journey" and books on the material covered in their Retreats. They are initiates and teachers in the Sufi and Yogananda lineages. They've been interviewed on radio and TV and are featured in the PBS documentary about the spiritual community in Sarasota called Siesta Key Awakening.
Jo writes Spiritual Connections a monthly E-newsletter covering the spiritual news, meditations, inspiring journals and events in southwest Florida. It presents uplifting articles that improve lives and change the conversation. It accepts no paid advertising but continues by supportive donations from readers. Patricia is founder and leader of the Sarasota Healer's Network, dedicated to the well-being of others. She publishes a Daily Gratitude Practice on Facebook that has a huge following and inspires thousands. They were both recognized by Natural Awakenings Magazine by winning several "Nattie Awards" as "Best Meditation Leaders" and Best Energy Healers.
